Summerhill was the home of my maternal grandparents in Inverness, Scotland. So it seemed to me appropriate to choose that name for a website containing stories about our family history.

My interest in researching family roots stems from stories I remember my dad, mum, uncle and cousins retelling while having a dram by the fireside. They have all departed now and I was recently encouraged by my sister to journey into this past guided by writings, photos, artworks and assorted artefacts which came to me when clearing out our parents' family home.
